NEWARK- Aida Maritza Mateo, 56, passed away peacefully on Wed. (Oct. 12, 2022), at Rochester General Hospital. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Tues. (Oct. 18), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wed. (Oct. 19), at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, in Geneva. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Aida was born on March 26, 1966, in Geneva and was the daughter of Marcolina (Ortiz) Parker and the late Ramon L. Mateo. She worked in assembly at Spinco Metal Products in Newark. Aida was "artsy" and enjoyed sewing and doing her nails. She loved her cats, shopping and spending time with her family. She is survived by her mother, Marcolina (Ernest) Parker of Waterloo; brothers, Edgardo L. Banks of Newark, Wilberto (Kecia R. Earl) Banks of Lyons and Ramon L. (Margaret S.) Mateo, Jr. of Waterloo; sisters, Lillian (Jeffrey) Banks Patrick of Newark and Evelyn Mateo Munoz of Jacksonville, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Aida was predeceased by her sister, Thelma L. Mateo.
