We celebrate the life of Kate Francis Dean-Milton who departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. Friends may call from 10 to 11 am Sat. (April 13) at Mount Calvary Church of Christ, 21 Milton Street, Geneva. A funeral service will follow calling at 11 am at the church. Burial will be Mon. (April 15) 12 noon at Glenwood Cemetery. Sister Kate was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 30, 1949 to the late Jack Dean and Maggie Puckett. At the age of 19, she began working at the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua, NY as a Dietitian and remained until she retired after 35 years of service. Sister Kate has been married to the love of her life Deacon Willie Charles Milton for 33 years. Together they raised three children, Gary, Ericka and Eric. In 1978, she joined the Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ under the Leadership of the late Administrative Assistant Rev. Clarence Williams where she served faithfully. Sister Kate was a devoted member of the Women's Department and served on the Usher Board. She continued her service to the church under the leadership of her current pastor, Elder Terrance Simmons unto death. Sister Kate loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching "General Hospital", cooking and gardening. Sister Kate had no problem expressing how she felt and "Spoke Her Mind" whenever she saw fit. She was loved by so many and will be sadly missed. . Affectionately known as "Fly Girl" by her close family and friends, she loved to travel to Chicago, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Arkansas to visit her children, siblings and other family members. She was predeceased by her parents Jack Dean and Maggie Puckett, four siblings Dorothy Smith, James L. Puckett, Ruth Ann Ford, Ida Mae Danley and brother-in-law Earl Porter. She is survived by her loving husband Deacon Willie Charles Milton, three children: Gary Lamar Dean, of Geneva, NY, Ericka J. Dean of Riverdale, Georgia, and Eric Sereeme Milton "Red Car" of Geneva, NY. Six siblings; Horace (Rose) Puckett, Chester Puckett and Tincie Porter all of Chicago, IL, Mary Ann (Eugene) Fleming of Geneva, NY, Florence Logan of Georgia, Jimmy Lee Dean of Florida. Five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a God-given granddaughter, Madison Whitley. A host of nieces, nephews and loved ones.
