The last time I was in Geneva, I stayed with Aunt Mayme. She cooked for me and gave me a cute little lavender-pink robe of hers to wear and keep. We sat at her kitchen table, drank coffee and talked about Dean Martin and her kids and grandkids and great grandkids. We had such a nice time. I marveled at what a great host she was to me at 90-something; however, it really was no surprise because Aunt Mayme was always a great host-ready to greet us at the front door, whether at the cottage or her house in Geneva, with a hug, a smile and perfect hair my whole life. For such a petite woman, she carried a big presence. She has a beautiful legacy that carries her on in each of her great grandchildren, her entire family and also in everyone who knew her and loved her. Her life and spirit are eternal. My love and thoughts are with all of my Chacchia cousins.

"She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;"
This was my Aunt Mayme. Along with her striking beauty, she carried herself with great dignity. She was a true example of how to keep going even when your heart is broken, when the husband she loved was taken away from her much too early.
They both continue to live through their large and beautiful family.
To all my cousins, your Mom, Baba and Great Baba goes on within each and every one of you.
For me, good memories are flooding back. I can't even imagine all the memories you're experiencing.
Love to you all,
cugina,
Mary Ann
