Obituary of Domenica Rosa Chacchia

Domenica Rosa 'Mayme', 'Baba' Chacchia GENEVA - Domenica Rosa 'Mayme', 'Baba' Chacchia, 97, passed away on Sat. (Nov. 19, 2011), at Geneva General Hospital. In honoring her wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tues. (Nov. 22), at St. Francis De Sales Roman Catholic Church, in Geneva. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Domenica was born on May 5, 1914, in Chicago, IL, and was a daughter of the late Sabatino and Anna (Massimiani) Annony. She worked as a secretary to the principal at De Sales Elementary School for many years. Domenica enjoyed cooking and loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. She was always known to have kept an impeccable home. She is survived by her sons, Daniel Chacchia of Pahrump, Nevada, Maury (Anne) Chacchia of Rochester and Victor (Judy) Chacchia of Carrollton, Texas; sister, Julia Annony of Maryland; sister-in-law, Lillian Annony; 6 grandchildren, Marchello (Alexis) Chacchia, Deidre (William) Mapstone, Bart (Tricia) Chacchia, Leandra (Joshua) Sweet, Christina Chacchia and Chad (Coshari) Chacchia; 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Domenica was predeceased by her husband, M. Maurice Chacchia, who was the District Attorney of Ontario County for many years and later became an Ontario County judge.
