Obituary of Charles Brian Leonard Peterson

Rochester-Charles Brian Leonard Peterson a native of Northern California who made Rochester, NY his home to be closer to his children, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Charlie, also called Brian, was born in Eureka, CA on June 29, 1940. Charlie was a retiree from the City of Rochester where he worked as a Building Inspector in the Code Enforcement department. As a photographer and collage-assemblage artist, he took inspiration from the Beatnik cultures of the 60s and 70s. Charlie is survived by his three children; Samuel Brian Peterson (Anna), Matthew William Peterson, Mary Jae Peterson, grandchildren; Latasha Eileen Pheto-Howard (Gaone), Justin Peterson, Katrina Peterson, and Patrick Peterson, ex-wives; Mary Sojourner (mother of his children) and Judy Peterson. He also leaves behind his beloved cats, Henry and Mabel. He is predeceased by his parents Charles Lester Peterson and Kaye née Albert. A public Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, 6/27/2022, from 4-7 PM at the Backroom Lounge of the Record Archive.
