Dear Aunt Barbara, Scott, Christopher and families.
We were so sad to hear of Uncle Richie's passing. Although the years have accumulated since we have seen you all, you and Uncle Richie were never far from our thoughts. Billy and I were so fond of him and (for good reason) yes, he was our favorite. His endless hilarious stories and love for history and family were just a few of the traits he will be missed for. In the late 1990's Uncle Richie stayed with us in Brooklyn. He insisted we go to Coney Island for the world's best hotdog, an original "Nathan's".Boy, was he right! Best hotdog we ever had!
Even after Billy passed he never hesitated to treat me like family. I'm grateful he got to meet Brendan a few times. I have shared so many "Uncle Richie" stories with him. (Show me your ropes!!) Although my Jared, Erin, and Thomas never got to meet him, he was still "Uncle Richie" to them all and he always asked for them. (and always insisting the 5 of us come to visit!)
I know his parents, brothers and my Billy were there to greet him with love and opened arms (and some good belly laughs, I'm sure.)
